With strengthening the awareness and ability for the protection of building heritage, and organizing more and morearchitectural curatorial activities, researches on architectural exhibitions have extended from critical thinking of theindividual case to areas of establishing the system of architectural museums.
As the founder nation of the InternationalConfederation of Architectural Museums (ICAM) and with a history of more than 60 years for building and developingthe national architectural museum, Finland’s history deserves learning.
Based on research of the historical literature ofthe museum, combined with field visits and expert interviews, this article will focus on the history of the Finnish Museumof Architecture in the preparation, site selection, finance and other key points in its creation, so as to analyze andsummarize the experience and strategy that is applicable to China.
