Art Basel Asia Director Jacqueline Wong said, "Despite the difficulties of the past few months, the city of Hong Kong has come together to support the fair. We are sincerely grateful to the 130 participating galleries for their unwavering commitment to the Hong Kong fair, as well as to the city's major art institutions and non-profit organizations, and especially to M+ for working with us to present a new site-specific mobile video work by Ellen Powers and to light up the first major commissioned public project on the M+ curtain wall." She said, "It has been a highly meaningful week with many exciting cultural collaborations, combined with online and in-person gatherings, reinforcing Art Basel Hong Kong's role as Asia's leading international art platform."

Marc Spiegler, Global Director of Art Basel, said: "Art Basel 2022 Hong Kong is a testament to the strength and resilience of the Hong Kong market. Despite the decline in overseas attendance, solid sales during the fair reflected the growing community of collectors in Hong Kong, many of whom are first-time buyers. At the same time, the show's digital program was also well received demonstrating the continued growth of online sales and the importance of reaching a broader audience through virtual formats."
