During the Shaoxing period of the Southern Song Dynasty, the "Tilling and Weaving Picture" drawn by Yu Qian County magistrate Lou Shuan (shú) was presented to Emperor Gaozong of the Song Dynasty and was deeply appreciated by him and received an inscription from Empress Wu. At that time, the people had to draw water from the river, carrying heavy barrels on their backs and filling them with water, walking home along the rugged and steep mountain roads, sometimes even making several round trips. At that time, when I went to Tibet to sketch, I was often awakened by their songs in the middle of the night."
