Aoyama Hope feels like a summer breeze, fresh and light. The same meticulousness, energy and elegance that can be seen in her work.

Born in 1994, Aoyama graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts with a degree in design and was selected as one of the "100 Famous New Generation Graphic Designers" by PAI, a leading creative publisher. After graduating, he worked at Kazuhiro Okamoto Design Office and NOSIGNER Corporation before founding "non Editions Studio" as a graphic designer in 2021, and has worked extensively in the main fields of graphic design, including editorial design, packaging design, and web design, as well as hand-made art books. He has published such acclaimed books as Neutral Colors and The Shapes of the Heart.

He was encouraged by the praise he received for his paintings since he was a child, and he aspired to enter a university and continue his creative career in the future. In middle school, she grew to love magazines and thought, "I may not become a magazine model when I grow up, but I can actually become a designer. This was the first time the young girl had a sense of "design".

Her studies at Tokyo University of the Arts undoubtedly paved the way for Aoyama's future design career. Chaos to Cosmos", created during her student days, is one of the most satisfying art books Aoyama has created to date. The book is a visual symbol of the process of change from chaos to order, which is hidden in the book. When the page is opened, the various graphic symbols on the left side symbolizing chaos move to the right side symbolizing order, and a group of carefully designed graphics are transformed into a colorful and multifaceted form of creation and retreat.

Recently, Aoyama designed the exhibition "Hello, we're Tokyobike" for Tokyobike's main store in Tokyo's Kiyosumi Shirakawa Station. The exhibition is an attempt to convey the character and appeal of the Tokyobike brand to the greatest extent possible while making full use of the entire exquisite space designed by TORAFU Architects. According to Aoyama, "The focus of the design was on the special colors of Tokyobike bikes, and all 27 current colors were selected as the main colors for the design. The color tubes are displayed along with a large number of test samples that have not been shown to the public, including some colors that are no longer in production. And on the white wall at the entrance, an attempt was made to use geometric shapes, showing figures riding real bicycles on the streets of Tokyo."

Aoyama has a lot to say when it comes to the current times and design topics. Along with the popularity of online distance learning, to some extent, people don't have to study specifically at a university to more or less have a grasp of design techniques. "But in this case, communication skills are especially important." She says, "The technology of apps keeps improving and evolving, and now you don't really need Adobe software on your computer, just a smartphone to do a design that feels good. In this case, why do clients still choose the designer? One of the main points is the ability to communicate. Therefore, I think that designers, even if they are not technically superior, can definitely propose good designs if they have 'communication sensitivity'."

"To a certain extent, it is because these are the times when it is easy to create beautiful designs that outstanding creativity is more of a weapon. At the same time, it is necessary to be professional. A heartfelt love for design and a constant pursuit of excellence will enable skills to be polished even further." Aoyama says, "This combination of 'communication sensitivity' and 'a strong love of technology and design' makes one a designer with a strong sense of uniqueness that is not easily buried by the times. This is exactly the direction I aim to refine day by day."
