Recently, there is such a completed work that the media is eager to report, and there is a profound and warm meaning behind the design.
This work is from Huang Jianyi, a graduate of the School of Sculpture and Public Art of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. The work is called "Constructing the Soul"
This is a work created by Huang Jianyi based on his love and respect for his father. In addition to being the backbone of the family, his father was also a great construction worker. Therefore, the author wants to pay tribute to his father through architectural language.
First of all, the work uses more than 700 kilograms of steel bars and iron plates as materials to create a sculptural image of a worker. The bottom is supported by a rectangular shape composed of steel bars, and the image of a construction worker is spliced above, which is visually very shocking with the internal lighting.
Among them, the works are arranged and welded in an orderly manner by using steel bars as shaping and fixing materials.
Iron plate material was added to the face of the worker's sculpture to make it more distinct and three-dimensional.
Fathers, workers, building materials, and art sculptures seem to silently tell the story behind the magnificent building that there are countless workers' efforts; behind a home, there is the support of my father's hard work.
Throughout the process, the author spent three months cutting and welding. Based on the father's professional image "construction worker", and using building materials consistent with his occupation, an artistic sculpture image is created.
And the reason why "Constructing the Soul" can make people so moving is probably that the public can experience the author's love for his father and respect for the great profession of construction workers from this work.
In general, the work "Constructing the Soul" presents a kind of shocking beauty. In addition to the complete creation of the work through the knowledge learned in four years of college, it also uses the silent architectural language to express the Gratitude and respect for my father, it can be said to be a completed work with no regrets and significance!
In addition to "Constructingthe Soul", there are many excellent works by the School of Sculpture and Public Art of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, and the meaning behind it is just as moving.
The work "Eternal Life in Fire" by student Xie Chengjie pays tribute to the fire fighters. The camphor wood is used as the material to create the image of firefighters when they save people, as well as related firefighting supplies and tools.
Items are treated with scorched effects and damaged shapes to express the greatness of firefighters who sacrificed themselves to save lives.
The designer of "The Pioneer of Flood Fighting" is Qiu Huaisen. The work tells about the great torrential rain that occurred in Henan last year, and the great flood fighting spirit of everyone.
Using FRP as the main material, the image of people bravely fighting the flood is carved, and the people form a sculptural image that expresses the great flood-fighting spirit of "unity, unity, perseverance, not afraid of difficulties, and tenacious struggle".
These completed works are based on important people in life or the things they encounter, and they are presented to the public through the language of sculpture. It not only catches the attention of the public with its visually stunning creative effect, but also makes people think deeply, which is a successful work of art. This is also a complete and unrepentant tribute to the university by the graduates.
