The large-scale multimedia paper sculpture garden art installation "Transmutation Landscape: Endless" extends the three-dimensional landscape scroll painting, innovatively presenting the beauty of contemporary art. Artist Ma Wen draws on the traditional Chinese paper sculpture art and ink aesthetics, and uses bright green, light pink, light purple and other clear and flexible colors to show the beauty of the "spring and summer" season, combined with the freehand blank space in Chinese landscape painting, with LED lighting to create a dreamy It has become colorful and splendid, interpreting the vitality of the world and showing the beauty of innovative contemporary art.
The paper sculpture installation is rooted in traditional Chinese ink painting, and contemporary culture is the root. Artist Ma Wen's iconic foldable honeycomb structure paper sculpture presents traditional Chinese handmade paper flowers through laser engraving. Paper sculptures integrate tradition, technology, philosophy, nature and human culture and history, allowing viewers to immerse themselves in diverse art fields while reclining at the beauty of ink painting from a new perspective.
The three-dimensional paper sculpture installation adopts the layout of three islands with reference to the geography and natural environment of Macau. The gesture presented by the island is like a long scroll, which opens its arms and embraces the viewer into the landscape, allowing the viewer to appreciate the beauty of ink painting from a new perspective, and wander between the artistic conception of the Lingnan Garden.
"Transmutation Landscape: Endless" is MGM's second collaboration with renowned cross-media artist Ma Wen after the first "Art Macao" in Macau in 2019. The works reinterpret traditional Chinese aesthetics in the language of contemporary art.
The island is equipped with an LED platform that changes according to the solar terms, and an LED pond that accompanies the island. It presents natural changes in the form of multimedia, and changes colors with festivals and weather.
Above the paper sculpture garden, there are also three magical creatures that look like butterflies soaring out. The backbone of the butterflies is a psychological experiment—the Rorschach inkblot image and the calligraphic appearance of the three characters "wu", "poor" and "exhausted". combined to complete. "Endless" symbolizes the endless inspiration and innovation, echoing the Chinese culture's spirit of self-improvement, courage and pioneering, harmoniously with the suspended grid structure glass roof of Shibo Plaza, the world's largest indoor LED screen and the world's largest indoor LED screen. The "art of nature" in the indoor garden is integrated, the sun is refracted on the butterfly, and the butterflies are flickering and flying.
Walking in the paper sculpture garden is like turning into a scene in a painting, passing through the inspirational realm of nature and beauty, and exploring the wonderful mood with a new perspective and imaginative space.
